End User License Agreement (EULA)

Welcome to iLexiBox (“Service”), operated by LexiTeam (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms of Use, which form the end user license agreement (EULA) for the Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Description of Service

iLexiBox is an AI-powered language learning web application that provides text generation, translation games, and translation services. The Service is accessible at ilexibox.com.

These Terms cover only the language-learning Service at ilexibox.com. Our medical exam-preparation product, MediLexi (med.ilexibox.com), is a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy, and nothing in this document applies to it.

2. Accounts and Registration

To use iLexiBox, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must not share your account credentials with others.

3. Free Trial

New accounts receive 56 free uses in total, allocated across five pools: Learn 10 (Text Generator, Speaking, Conversation), Play 10 (LexiPlay, Lexipic), Path 6, Tools 20 (Translator, Letter Writer, Polish, Corrector), and Quiz 10. Free uses do not expire and do not reset monthly. After using your free trial, a paid subscription is required to continue.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

iLexiBox Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered as a monthly plan (1 month) and an annual plan (1 year). The exact price and billing period are always shown on the subscription screen before you confirm, in your local currency.

Purchases made inside the iOS or Android app are billed by Apple or Google as merchant of record, through App Store In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your Apple Account or Google Account settings — cancellation is not handled by us.

Purchases made on the ilexibox.com website are processed by Paddle, our web payment provider, and are managed from your account on the website. All prices include applicable taxes where required by law.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancel an App Store subscription in your Apple Account settings, a Google Play subscription in the Play Store, and a web subscription from your account page. Upon cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time on monthly plans. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you agree not to:

reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service;
scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or use any automated means to extract our images, audio recordings, word banks, exercises, or any other part of the Service;
copy, reproduce, republish, mirror, distribute, sell, rent, or sub-license any part of the Service or its content, whether or not for commercial gain;
use our content to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or evaluate any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model or dataset;
remove, obscure, or alter any copyright notice, watermark, or other proprietary marking;
circumvent any access control, rate limit, paywall, or technical protection measure; or
use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual Property and Copyright

All content and materials made available through the Service and on ilexibox.com are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by Norwegian and international copyright, database, and trade mark law. This includes, without limitation:

the iLexiBox name, logo, and other trade marks, brand names, and brand features;
the application, its source code, design, layout, user interface, and overall look and feel;
every illustration and image in the picture bank — both each individual artwork and the selection, curation, and arrangement of the collection as a whole;
every audio recording and pronunciation clip;
the word, concept, and vocabulary banks, including their translations, categories, difficulty levels, and the structure and arrangement of the databases holding them;
all other text, questions, exercises, lesson content, marketing copy, and documentation.

No right or licence is granted to you except as expressly stated in these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7.1 What you may do

While your account is active and in good standing, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Service and to view and use its content for your own personal, non-commercial language learning only. Teachers may use the material with their own class for non-commercial educational purposes, provided iLexiBox is credited and the material is not redistributed or made publicly available.

Text you generate with the AI tools — translations, letters, corrections, and similar output produced from your own input — may be used freely for personal, educational, and professional purposes. This permission covers that generated output only. It does not extend to our images, audio, word banks, exercises, or any other pre-existing content of the Service.

7.2 What you may not do

You may not copy, download, capture, republish, mirror, sell, licence, rent, broadcast, or otherwise make available to the public any part of our content, in any medium or format, without our prior written permission. You may not incorporate our content into another product, application, website, course, dataset, or publication, and you may not use it to train or evaluate machine-learning models. These restrictions apply whether the copying is done manually or by automated means, and whether or not you charge for the result.

7.3 Enforcement

Unauthorised copying or use of our content is copyright infringement. We monitor for it, and we will enforce our rights. Depending on the circumstances, and without prior notice, we may: suspend or terminate your account and any associated accounts; issue takedown notices to the infringing site and to its host, CDN, domain registrar, payment processor, app store, or search engine; and bring legal proceedings seeking injunctive relief, damages, an account of profits, delivery-up or destruction of infringing copies, and our legal costs.

Nothing in this section limits any right you have under mandatory law, including the quotation and private-use exceptions in the Norwegian Copyright Act (åndsverkloven).

7.4 Reporting infringement

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, or if you have found our content republished elsewhere, contact us at support.ilexibox@gmail.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject line. Please identify the work concerned, where it appears, and your contact details. We act on properly submitted notices, including notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and remove infringing material.

7.5 Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them without obligation or compensation to you.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, iLexiBox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved in Norwegian courts.
